The following is an excerpt from the Federal Relief Funding Guide provided by Boxlight.
At one point when I started writing this, federal relief funding, a.k.a. COVID-19 funding - under CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act), CRRSA (Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act), and ARPA (America's Response Program Act) - amounted to a little over $3900 per public school student and $2500 per private non-profit school students in K-12. It was an exciting time and my strong reaction to this was SPEND IT!
Then I noted how slowly school districts were spending these funds with the Department of Education (DoE) citing total disbursement of just 22% through July 2021. Factors such as state plans the ARPA required, data collection needed as part of applications, and limited personnel to sort through and submit materials resulted with only 26 states responding for a June 7, 2021 deadline.
As of this writing, federal relief funding continues to be available. Program applications close somewhere in the December 2021 window for most states, yet again, there are states that have not yet posted applications.
