Hopefully you’ve had a great start to the year—can you believe we’re already heading into the holidays?! Now that you are well into a groove, it’s a great time to discover instructional methods that may be more interactive so your students continue to be engaged at this time of the year.
Here is our collection of fun themed content to help you enhance your lessons this month:
November Calendar and Morning Meeting: Gobble gobble! There is so much to be thankful for this time of year as we get ready to gather around the table with our family and friends. This morning meeting pack will get students in the spirit all month long with the featured calendars, activities, attendance chart, and more.
Numbers for Young Learners: Ideal for younger learners from early childhood and preschool up to the kindergarten age, this lesson reviews names of numbers with plenty of chances to have many students participate.
Letters/Alphabet for Young Learners: Aimed at younger learners (early childhood, preschool, and kindergarten ages), this lesson reviews names of letters and beginning sounds. The interaction is low on the page, so students will not have any difficulty reaching while dragging on the board.
Thanksgiving Pack: This Thanksgiving Pack contains fun images, templates, multimedia, and lessons/activities to weave the holiday into your lessons all month long.
Thanksgiving Fact Families: Enjoy learning and practicing addition and subtraction fact families with this holiday-themed lesson.
The Harvest Ceremony | The First Thanksgiving: Explore the origins of Thanksgiving with this interactive lesson, which includes information about the Pilgrims, the Wampanoag tribe, and the history of the first Thanksgiving.
Turkey Time: We’ve taken the Turkey Time lesson template from the Thanksgiving Pack and extended it with additional practice pages. We hope it will give you some ideas on how you might take other templates in the pack and extend them as well!
Fall Multiplication Fact Practice: The multiplication activity from the Thanksgiving Pack has been extended with two initial pages of practice for each set of factors, including 2, 5, 9 in one lesson and 3 and 4 in a second lesson.

Create Interactive Lessons With Ease
Using the MimioStudio™ classroom software, you can add a range of educational content to make your lesson even more powerful. You are able to easily add video clips, sound files, Flash multimedia interactive objects, and images to enhance your lessons. Additionally, you can add most other lesson resources you already have, such as PDFs, Word files, PowerPoint files, and even other interactive whiteboard files.
Incorporating such files will allow you to make them interactive and give you the ability to use any of the MimioStudio tools with your students. To insert any type of file, click on Insert > File from the top menu in MimioStudio, or click on the Insert File icon on the floating MimioStudio toolbar under the Shape tool. You’ll then be asked to browse your computer for the file you want to add. Simply select the file and click Open, then the content piece you selected will be ready to add to your lesson.
You can learn more about this MimioStudio feature in our MimioStudio: Adding Content Quick Learn session, scheduled for November 7 and November 26 at 7:00pm ET.
