Transform Learning in the Classroom Webinars: Real Insights from Real Leaders.

Written by Holly Fritz-Palao | Wed, Sep 12, 2018

Boxlight is excited to announce the fall webinar series, “Transforming Learning in the Classroom,” featuring six webinars to help you find ways to transform learning with the right technologies and best practices for your classroom. All of the presenters are working in schools every day and making an impact, offering you real insights from real leaders.

The series will begin on September 19, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. ET with “Atlanta Public Schools Secrets to Success: The Odd Couple.” The educators hosting each webinar in the series use and manage technology every day in their classrooms and districts to engage their students and encourage collaboration. The webinars were developed to help educators learn how to utilize classroom technology to promote students’ learning, and gain valuable insights and best practices from those who know what works best.

Here are three things you can look forward to learning from the fall 2018 webinar series:

  1. How you can pair the best technologies to support your students’ learning.
Aleigha Henderson-Rosser and Femi Aina from Atlanta Public Schools will discuss their path to providing educators in their district with the best instructional and information technology for its needs. In “Atlanta Public Schools Secrets to Success: The Odd Couple,” learn how these technology directors worked together to ensure the technology they brought into the classroom would be functional, easy to use, and successful.
  1. How your classroom design can hinder or improve learning.
In “Redesigning Learning Spaces,” Curriculum Coordinator and Adjunct Professor Kelly Bielefeld will tell you how your current classroom may be making it harder for students to learn, and what changes you can make to support the 21st century student. More importantly, Bielefeld will discuss why these specific changes are effective, so you can understand them and transform your classroom as your students’ needs change.

In addition, Gregory Haulk, Superintendent of Huntington Beach City School District (HBSC), and Kevin Mulligan, President of OnPoint Innovative Learning Environments, will share their best practices from HBSC’s district modernization project, which redesigned classrooms and implemented technology to achieve collaborative learning strategies that support 21st century skills.
  1. How you can use the Labdisc to prepare students for STEM careers.
You probably already know how useful hands-on experimentation can be for engaging students in the classroom, but how do you explain to your students why these experiments are so important? In “Have Science. Will Travel. STEM on the Move,” high school principal and former science teacher Travis Rink will explain how you can help students combine critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and STEM experiments on the Labdisc portable data logger to help your students understand the real-world applications of these subjects.
