On Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, EOS Education by Boxlight hosted an enriching day of professional learning for over 120 teachers in Port Neches-Groves ISD (Port-Neches, TX). The focus of this event was to provide educators with the knowledge and skills to make the most of their newly acquired MimioPro4 interactive displays and MimioView document cameras, taking their teaching to new levels of dynamic instruction.

The comprehensive Professional Development sessions were thoughtfully designed to equip teachers with the tools and techniques they need to effectively integrate the award-winning MimioPro 4 and MimioView into their classrooms. The primary goal was to support instructional strategies, enhance existing lessons and materials, and create dynamic engagement to foster active learning among students consistently and confidently.

Throughout the day, teachers immersed themselves in interactive sessions, designed to keep them engaged and participating actively in their learning journey. These sessions went beyond traditional lectures and embraced hands-on activities, encouraging educators to explore new strategies and best practices for maximizing the potential of their MimioPro4 interactive displays and MimioView doc cameras.

“It was exciting to watch their enthusiasm and active engagement! Hearing, ‘Thank you for being so helpful!’ validates our efforts. They want more training and are eager to grow and excel!” commented Taylor-Ann Charles, Training and Development Specialist for EOS Education by Boxlight.

The trainers provided invaluable insights and practical tips, showing teachers how to leverage the interactive displays and doc cameras to create immersive learning experiences. Educators also learned innovative ways to use these technologies to seamlessly integrate existing lessons and materials to foster a more engaged and optimized learning environment.

“As a trainer, it was inspiring to see their passion and planning in action,” stated Emily Turk, Education Consultant for EOS Education. “Each group embraced the tools with joy, eager to bring that excitement to their students through the interactive display.”

The spirit of collaboration and sharing ideas among the educators was palpable throughout the event. The interactive sessions not only enhanced their technical skills but also invigorated their passion for teaching and inspired them to explore new possibilities for instruction.

"By the end of the day, the Port Neches educators were experts at applying their new Tech Tools for instruction. After our last session, teachers collaborated and presented ways they plan to utilize their digital tools for engagement in the fall," remarked Christine Hall, Training and Development Specialist for EOS.

As the day concluded, teachers left this dynamic tech fest with renewed confidence and excitement. Provided with new strategies and best practices, they are now well-equipped to create engaging and interactive classrooms that foster active learning and spark curiosity in their students.

EOS Education by Boxlight's commitment to empowering educators ensures that students will reap the benefits of these enriched teaching experiences for years to come. This first ever Port Neches Tech Fest event serves as a catalyst for transformational change, setting the stage for a future where technology seamlessly integrates with effective teaching practices in the district, bringing out the best in both educators and students alike.
