There’s a popular idiom that is generally used to describe changes in weather – March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. It seems that no truer words have ever been said. This past month has felt like a roaring lion, the powerful sound vibrating around us in the forms of social distancing, shelter-in-place directives, changes in how we shop and travel, and school closures. It seems unlikely that anyone has escaped the repercussions of COVID-19, and as we attempt to find balance in continuously changing circumstances, our children are also trying to make sense of the world they now live in.
With the goal of supporting our school communities and Boxlight extended family, we are providing resources that can help alleviate some of the stress brought on from the sudden necessity of distance learning. Many teachers are suddenly finding themselves directed to use web applications and software they probably tried to avoid. We understand this so we have online courses to help teachers navigate through G Suite for Education and Office 365 for Education. We have also developed a Distance Learning Webinar Series with courses such as Transform Learning with MS Teams and Supporting Learning Initiatives with Staff Teams. Click here to learn more.
Parents are juggling an incredible balancing act of responsibilities with a steady stream of interruptions, helping their children continue an established learning routine, and some sense of normalcy with the novelty of home also serving as classroom. Teachers are searching for more resources that provide their students with an enriching virtual experience so that the inevitable “cabin fever” is less difficult for all. Administrators are working hard to keep lines of communication open, while still meeting the needs of their learning community. With the goal of melding these stakeholder groups, we have collected resources such as online training courses and videos, learner-related blogs, and links to free material, learner-related blogs, and online training courses and videos: Click here to learn more
Boxlight is determined to support our learning communities through these trying times. We welcome your input about how we can better help you. #BoxlightTogether
